Zara Dar, a YouTuber who made waves after quitting her PhD to pursue a career on OnlyFans, has revealed an unexpected twist in her content creation journey.

Dar, who initially shifted from academia to adult content creation, is now uploading her STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) videos on both YouTube and Pornhub. Surprisingly, she has found that Pornhub generates significantly higher ad revenue for her videos.

In a recent post shared on LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter), Dar explained how her STEM videos, including topics like neural networks, are earning more on Pornhub than on YouTube.

While her videos on YouTube typically receive more views, the ad revenue per 1 million views on Pornhub is nearly three times higher. Dar cited an example of a video with nearly 1 million views on YouTube, which earned her $340, while the same video on Pornhub, with only 32,000 views, brought in $1,000.

Dar also shared her frustrations after the post comparing ad revenue on the two platforms went viral on LinkedIn, leading to her account being blocked without notice.

Despite this setback, Dar continues to share her STEM knowledge on both platforms, emphasizing her decision to leave academia for financial freedom and the flexibility of her new career path.

In December, Dar had announced that she was quitting her PhD program to focus on OnlyFans, citing the platform’s financial viability and the freedom it offered compared to a traditional academic career.

She had also expressed her commitment to continuing her educational content creation, now using unconventional platforms to reach a wider audience.
