Google Photos to Bring Back Partner Sharing with New Update

Google is bringing back the Partner Sharing feature in Google Photos, which was removed in 2024. This feature lets users automatically share photos and videos with a partner.

It was removed, causing frustration for users who couldn’t share content from third-party apps like screenshots or photos from external cameras.

A new update in the Google Photos Android app shows a toggle option: “Include content from other Android apps.” This will allow users to share photos from third-party apps again, restoring the feature’s original functionality.

Partner Sharing allows automatic sharing of all or specific photos with a partner. Users can also limit sharing by date to avoid sharing irrelevant content.

Google removed the ability to share content from third-party apps in late 2024, but the new toggle will allow users to restore this feature. The toggle will be off by default, giving users the choice to turn it on.

It’s unclear when the feature will be available to all users. Check your Partner Sharing settings to see if the toggle has been added.

In addition, Google Photos is testing two updates: one to give users more control over photo organization and another to improve the Memories feature, showing more photos of important people.
