Vivo’s upcoming foldable smartphone, the successor to the Vivo X Fold3 Pro, is expected to make some significant changes.

According to leaks from Digital Chat Station (DCS), the next-gen device will have fewer cameras compared to its predecessor, cutting down from the X Fold3 Pro’s five cameras to just four.

While the exact camera to be removed is unclear, the periscope zoom lens from Zeiss is likely to remain.

The other cameras, including the main rear lens, ultrawide-angle lens, and the selfie cameras for both the cover screen and the main display, may be the ones to go.

In addition to the camera cutbacks, the new foldable might also have some reduced specifications in terms of peripheral features.

This could include changes to connectivity options, such as Bluetooth 5.4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2, although details remain vague.

Despite these changes, the next Vivo foldable is expected to have a larger battery, possibly around 6,000mAh, while still being lighter and thinner than the X Fold3 Pro.

This could make the device more competitive against rivals like the OnePlus Open 2, which is rumored to be even thinner, measuring just 8.9mm when closed.
