The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite is coming soon as the successor to last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
A new leak has revealed key performance and configuration details of the chipset, expected to launch in March or April 2025.
The Snapdragon 8s Elite is said to offer performance close to the Snapdragon 8 Elite but will be slightly less powerful.
According to the leak from Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will score around 2 million on AnTuTu, making it faster than many Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones but about 20% slower than Snapdragon 8 Elite devices.
The new chipset will use a Cortex-X4 prime core and A720 cores, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but it won’t have the new Oryon cores seen in the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
This suggests that while the Snapdragon 8s Elite will likely outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the CPU side, its GPU performance may not be as strong as the previous flagship.
Many smartphone brands, including Xiaomi, Honor, iQOO, and OPPO, are reportedly preparing devices with the Snapdragon 8s Elite.
These phones are expected to launch in April 2025, with Qualcomm likely revealing the chipset in March or April.
