Google has released the first Chromecast with Google TV update of 2025, following eight updates in 2024.

This update, STTL.241013.003, bumps the Android security patch level to November 2024, up from September. However, Android 14 has not yet been included.

The update is 72.25 MB, slightly larger than the previous November update, which was 59.48 MB.

It mainly includes bug fixes and performance improvements, though no major new features have been introduced yet.

In 2024, Google rolled out eight updates for Chromecast with Google TV, with the first update of 2025 marking a continuation of this trend.

The big Android 14 update, which will add a “Home runtime” for smart home device control, is still awaited.

To get the update, go to Settings > System > About > System update on your Chromecast with Google TV.
