The January 2025 Pixel update is rolling out starting today, January 7, with several improvements and bug fixes for Pixel users.

Verizon confirmed the release of the Android 15 January security patch, with the software version AP4A.250105.002 for all supported Pixel devices.

For the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series, the update primarily includes the latest security patch. However, the Pixel 8 series receives two specific fixes:

  • Audio: Resolves an audio delay and stability issue when using certain apps.
  • User Interface: Fixes a problem with the Pixel Launcher’s themed icon color display, which had flipped light and dark themes.

The issue with the Pixel Launcher was introduced last month with the Android 15 QRP1 update, but many users managed to fix it by manually switching the Dynamic Color themes.

The Pixel 9 series will receive the same audio and UI fixes, along with additional updates:

  • Camera: Fixes a stability issue when switching to a connected camera under certain conditions.
  • Display and Graphics: Addresses an issue with flashing lines on the screen in certain scenarios.

The update should begin rolling out later today, with Google expected to officially announce it soon.
