The Foldable iPhone’s Small Cover Screen: What We Know So Far

Leaked details about the upcoming foldable iPhone suggest that it will feature a 7.6-7.9-inch foldable display and a 5.3-5.5-inch cover screen, with a 2026 launch being highly anticipated.

These screen sizes are in line with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which sports a 7.6-inch foldable display and a 6.3-inch cover screen.

However, the claim that the iPhone’s cover screen will be as small as 5.3-5.5 inches raises some doubts.

With a foldable main display of similar or larger size than the Z Fold 6, it seems odd for the cover screen to be so much smaller.

This could indicate the presence of large bezels, but such a design doesn’t seem to align with Apple’s premium aesthetic.

Other leaks mention a wider aspect ratio for the foldable iPhone compared to the Z Fold 6, and LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) technology, which could enable a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz.

Despite these intriguing details, the 2026 release is still far off, and Apple may not have finalized the design yet, meaning these leaks should be taken with caution.
