Google has introduced a new security feature to protect Android users from unwanted Bluetooth trackers.

This update, announced on December 11, 2024, is part of Google’s effort to keep over 3 billion Android users safe from tracking devices.

The “Unknown Tracker Alert” system is not new, but the latest update brings important improvements.

The feature now notifies users if an unfamiliar Bluetooth tracker is following them. This helps prevent stalking and unwanted tracking by strangers.

One of the key updates is the “Temporarily Pause Location” feature. This allows users to pause their location updates for 24 hours.

It gives them time to track and disable any unknown Bluetooth tag that may be following them. This extra layer of control helps protect users from privacy threats.

Another important addition is the “Find Nearby” feature. If users receive an unknown tracker alert, they can use this feature to find the exact location of the tracker.

When combined with the location pause feature, users can more easily find and disable the tracking device.

Google’s commitment to safety continues with these updates, aiming to keep users safe from unwanted Bluetooth tracking.
