Samsung is preparing to roll out an upgraded version of its digital assistant, Bixby, with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025.

This new version of Bixby, powered by Samsung’s proprietary large language model (LLM), was first introduced in China with the Galaxy W25 and W25 Flip foldable phones. Now, it’s expected to make its global debut with the Galaxy S25 lineup.

The enhanced Bixby will offer more natural interactions and improved contextual understanding, similar to AI-powered assistants like ChatGPT or Google Gemini.

The upgraded Bixby will be integrated into the One UI 7 update, which will be available alongside the Galaxy S25 launch.

It will be capable of retrieving information from various apps, such as Calendar and Samsung Internet, and will be able to understand on-screen context.

Users will also be able to interact with Bixby more seamlessly, using it for tasks like getting directions or managing schedules. The new Bixby may also be made available to older Samsung flagship devices through the One UI 7 update.
