iOS 18.2 is bringing a small yet powerful update to the Apple Music and Apple TV apps with the introduction of natural language search.
This feature allows users to search for content using everyday language, making it easier to find what you’re looking for, even if you donโt know the title of a song, movie, or TV show.
How Natural Language Search Works
The feature lets you describe what youโre looking for using terms like genres, moods, actors, decades, and more.
For example, you can search for โnostalgic hits from the 90sโ or โsongs similar to Espresso,โ and it will return relevant results. You can even ask Siri to play specific music based on your description, like “play songs with epic guitar solos.”
More Apple Intelligence Features
This update follows the addition of natural language search in the Photos app with iOS 18.1. Just like with Photos, users can now find content on Apple Music and TV using more intuitive search phrases. This feature, however, is available only in English at the moment.
Device Requirements
To use this feature, you need an iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad with the M1 chip or newer.
iOS 18.2 is expected to be available to the public in the next few days, bringing these smarter search capabilities to users.
