DeX App for Windows Ends with One UI 7: What You Need to Know

Samsung has announced that the DeX app for Windows will be discontinued in its upcoming One UI 7 update.

The DeX feature, which allowed Galaxy phone owners to project their phone’s screen onto a PC, will no longer be supported on Windows OS.

Samsung is encouraging users to switch to the built-in “Link to Windows” feature, which offers similar functionality and works across a broader range of devices.

While the DeX app for Windows is ending, the DeX functionality itself remains available for connecting to monitors, keyboards, and mice for a desktop-like experience. This change will affect users who relied on the Windows app, disrupting their usual workflows.

In addition to this, One UI 7 will drop support for downloading third-party edge panels, marking another shift in the interface.

While more features of One UI 7 remain undisclosed, leaks suggest other design and feature updates that could redefine the user experience.
