The opening night of Death Becomes Her on Broadway saw a Destiny’s Child reunion as Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland attended to support Michelle Williams’ performance in the musical. The show, based on the 1992 film, premiered at New York City’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on November 21, 2024.
Beyoncé shared photos from the event on Instagram, showing Williams looking stunning on stage, along with moments with Rowland and their mother, Tina Knowles. Williams, who stars as Viola Van Horn, was visibly moved by the support, commenting, “My sisters 4ever!”
The musical adaptation features Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, and Christopher Sieber. Death Becomes Her tells the darkly comedic story of the classic film led by Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis.
In an earlier interview, Williams expressed her regret for missing a rally with her bandmates ahead of the 2024 election due to her Broadway commitments. Still, she praised Beyoncé and Rowland for their support, saying, “They represented and held me down in their own way.”
The trio’s last album together, Destiny Fulfilled, was released 20 years ago, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
