Xiaomi is partnering with PhonePe to replace its GetApps store with the Indus AppStore for its customers in India starting in January 2024.

This move marks a significant win for PhonePe, an Indian fintech startup, and indicates Xiaomi’s shifting strategies in the Indian market.

The Indus AppStore, launched earlier this year, aims to challenge Google’s dominance in India by offering lower listing fees, support for third-party payments, and local language support.

This transition will affect millions of Xiaomi users who will automatically receive the update.
