K-pop group Stray Kids announced their innovative new album series “SKZHOP HIPTAPE,” with the first release “HOP” scheduled for December 13, 2024.

The project combines the group’s abbreviation “SKZ” with “hip-hop,” creating what their agency describes as an undefinable “new genre.”

A 24-second teaser released Friday shows the album logo featuring red and blue spherical objects creating ripples on water, symbolizing the “new wave” the group aims to create.

The title “HOP” carries a dual meaning, referencing both hip-hop and the Korean word for unity among the eight members.

The announcement follows Stray Kids’ impressive Billboard success, with five consecutive Billboard 200 number-one albums since 2022’s “ODDINARY.”

Their latest album “ATE,” released in July 2024, became this year’s bestselling K-pop album in the U.S., exceeding 500,000 sales.

The group recently released their second Japanese album “GIANT” on November 13, accompanied by promotional collaborations with Suntory, HEP FIVE mall, and Spotify in Japan.
