BBC iPlayer Coming Soon to Google TV Streamer

BBC iPlayer

Google TV Streamer users in the UK will soon get access to BBC iPlayer. The BBC has now certified the device for iPlayer use, removing the main obstacle to the app’s release.

BBC iPlayer is an important streaming app in the UK. Even though older Google devices could use iPlayer, the new Google TV Streamer needed separate approval.

While users cannot download the app yet from the Play Store, the certification means it will be available soon.

The timing is good news for UK customers who bought the new Google TV Streamer but couldn’t access BBC content. The app’s release date has not yet been announced.
