At TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, Nothing’s founder Carl Pei revealed the company’s exploration into developing its own mobile operating system.

Pei criticized the current dominance of Android and iOS, expressing a desire to innovate user experience and create a new revenue stream.

He noted that advancements in AI could simplify the OS development process, allowing for enhanced customization.

While he did not confirm plans for funding, Pei emphasized that building a unique OS could help Nothing differentiate itself in a competitive market.
