OnePlus Rumored to Develop 7,000mAh Smartphone Battery

OnePlus is reportedly working on a smartphone battery with an unprecedented 7,000mAh capacity, according to a leak by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. This development, if true, would mark a significant increase from the 5,000mAh batteries typically found in current flagship devices.

The leak suggests that both OnePlus and its parent company OPPO are involved in developing this massive battery pack, which may debut in a mid-range smartphone rather than a flagship model.

OnePlus’s recent introduction of “Glacier Battery” technology, which uses silicon-based batteries with higher energy density, could enable the company to incorporate such a large capacity without significantly increasing device size or weight. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, featuring this technology, already boasts a 6,100mAh battery in a relatively slim and lightweight design.

If successful, this innovation could set a new standard for smartphone battery life, particularly if implemented in more affordable mid-range devices.
