Taylor Swift is no longer the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire. The new titleholder is Lucy Guo, a 30-year-old tech entrepreneur who co-founded the AI company Scale AI.
According to Forbes, Guo’s estimated net worth is $1.3 billion, slightly ahead of Swift. Scale AI, the company she helped build, is now valued at $25 billion. Guo still owns about 5% of the company, making her one of the youngest billionaires in the world.
Guo dropped out of Carnegie Mellon University at age 20 after winning a $100,000 scholarship from investor Peter Thiel. She worked at Quora and Snapchat before starting Scale AI with Alexandr Wang in 2016.
Although she was later pushed out of Scale AI, Guo kept her shares. She went on to launch Passes, a content creator platform that raised $40 million last year. Passes has recently faced legal issues after a lawsuit claimed the platform hosted illegal content involving a minor. Guo’s team has denied the accusations and called the lawsuit an attempt to damage her reputation.
Despite the controversy, Guo maintains a high-profile lifestyle, splitting time between Miami and Los Angeles, commuting on an electric skateboard or with a personal driver, and working long hours—even during vacations.
Taylor Swift, meanwhile, remains the world’s richest female musician with a net worth of $1.6 billion, thanks to her successful Eras Tour.
Guo ranked No. 26 on Forbes’ list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women, while Swift came in at No. 21.
