21 Savage has found himself at the center of speculation regarding his involvement in the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The controversy stems from 21 Savage’s verse on Drake’s newly released song “It’s Up,” which also features Young Thug.
On August 6, Drake dropped a massive 100 gigabytes of material for fans, including three new singles. Among them, “It’s Up” caught attention due to 21 Savage’s lyrics that some interpreted as a dig at Kendrick Lamar. The lines in question include: “Made a couple songs think he hot now / Hit his ass up think he pac now.”
Fans quickly took to social media to debate the meaning behind these words. Some viewed it as 21 Savage taking sides in the Drake-Kendrick beef, while others argued it might be an old track unrelated to the current situation.
However, DJ Akademiks reportedly reached out to 21 Savage’s manager, Meezy, who denied that the lyrics were aimed at Kendrick Lamar. According to Akademiks, Meezy stated, “That definitely ain’t no shot at Kendrick,” suggesting the bars were intended for someone else.
This incident comes in the wake of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s highly publicized feud, which has seen both artists release multiple diss tracks. Drake’s contributions include “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” while Kendrick responded with “Like That” and “Not Like Us.”
21 Savage, who has collaborated with both Drake and Kendrick in the past, has previously expressed a desire for reconciliation between Drake and Metro Boomin, stating, “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. Them n**gas gonna figure that sh*t out eventually.”
