GTA 6 has officially appeared on both the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores, and fans are more excited than ever. This update doesn’t mean the game is available to play yet — but it’s a big step closer to pre-orders opening.
The game showed up on the PlayStation Store months ago, right after the release of its second trailer. However, it only just arrived on the Xbox Store in recent days. Some fans believe this delay may hint at Sony having exclusive marketing rights, though this has not been confirmed.
With both listings now live, players can add GTA 6 to their wishlists. This will notify them when the game is ready for pre-order — something many believe will happen soon.
Interestingly, Xbox users can even download a 300MB placeholder file. It doesn’t launch the game but shows the GTA 6 key art when opened. It’s mostly symbolic, but it lets fans see the game on their console’s dashboard.
Fans have been quick to react. On Reddit, one user said, “S**t starting to get real.” Another added, “Makes me believe more that the game won’t get delayed again.”
PC gamers, however, remain left out. Rockstar has not yet confirmed a PC version, and many believe it may not arrive until 2027.
Rockstar is known for dropping news unexpectedly, often without warning or major event tie-ins. Since GTA 6 is scheduled for release in late 2026, many expect the next big update — possibly the pre-order date — to come later this year.
