Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi K Pad, its first flagship tablet. The device is expected to launch in mid-2025. It targets users who want a compact and powerful tablet, competing directly with the Apple iPad Mini.

The Redmi K Pad features an 8.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a sharp 1600 x 2560 pixel resolution and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR and Dolby Vision for better image quality. Xiaomi uses two display driver chips to maintain high performance.

The tablet runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, a flagship processor built on a 3 nm process. It has an octa-core CPU and an Immortalis-G925 GPU. This setup promises strong performance for gaming, multitasking, and work.

Users can get up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of fast UFS 4.0 storage. The Redmi K Pad does not have a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

The device has a single 13MP rear camera with LED flash and supports 4K video recording. The front camera is 8MP, suitable for video calls and selfies.

Power comes from a 7,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The charging system supports modern standards and includes features to protect battery health.

The Redmi K Pad is thin at 6.4 mm and weighs 326 grams. It is available in Black, Green, and Purple colors. It supports Wi-Fi only and lacks cellular connectivity. It offers stereo speakers with high-resolution audio and includes an infrared port. The tablet charges and connects accessories via a USB Type-C 3.2 port.

The tablet ships with Android 15 and Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 2.0 skin, which promises a smooth user experience.

The expected price at launch is around CNY 4,000 (about $560 USD). This makes the Redmi K Pad a strong competitor in the compact flagship tablet market.
