Xiaomi is reportedly working on a mid-range smartphone equipped with an enormous 7000mAh battery, according to a leak from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station.

The device is expected to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite (or Snapdragon 8s Gen 4), a more affordable yet powerful chipset aimed at offering a balance between performance and energy efficiency.

The new smartphone is likely to feature 90W wired fast charging, which, while not the fastest option available, should be enough to quickly charge the large 7000mAh battery. However, it appears the device may not support wireless charging.

This follows earlier reports revealing that Xiaomi has been experimenting with various battery and charging configurations, including models with batteries as large as 7,500mAh and charging speeds up to 100W.

While the exact model and branding of the phone are still unknown, speculation points toward it being part of Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup.

Possible names include the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro or Redmi K90, with the “SM8735” chipset seen in HyperOS software earlier this year. However, these details are still rumors.

In the meantime, Redmi is preparing to launch the K80 series in China on November 27, featuring a 6500mAh battery and 120W fast charging.

The K80 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offers a 50MP triple-camera setup, while the standard K80 includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 50MP main camera. Both models sport a premium design and display features.
