Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, recently shared results from the winter testing of the company’s highly anticipated electric vehicles, the SU7 Ultra and YU7.
The tests were conducted in Heihe, a city known for its extreme cold conditions, and aimed to evaluate the performance of Xiaomi’s electric vehicles in temperatures as low as -25°C.
During the tests, Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra showed impressive results. In temperatures ranging from -5°C to -15°C, the SU7 achieved a range of 737 kilometers, beating the second-place EV by 19.5 kilometers.
In even colder conditions, between -20°C and -25°C, the SU7 managed a range of 385 kilometers, which was 48.8 kilometers more than its closest competitor.
These results show that the SU7 Ultra performs well in extreme cold, maintaining high efficiency and reliability.
The SU7 Ultra is set to release in March 2025, with pre-orders already available. The YU7 is expected to launch later in June or July 2025.
Xiaomi’s strong presence in the electric vehicle market is growing, with over 100 test vehicles and a dedicated engineering team working to improve the company’s EV technology.
The success of the SU7 Ultra in winter testing reflects Xiaomi’s commitment to producing reliable and innovative electric vehicles, even in the harshest conditions.
