Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new phone called the Xiaomi 17 Max. It is expected to be the fifth model in the Xiaomi 17 series.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is said to come with the largest battery in the series – 8,000mAh. It may support 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, making it ideal for heavy users. By comparison, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 6,800mAh battery, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro has 6,300mAh.

The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, like other Xiaomi 17 models. This should deliver fast performance and efficient power usage.

The display of the Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to have narrow, symmetrical bezels on all sides, giving it a clean and modern look.

The rear camera design may mirror the standard Xiaomi 17, but the Max version is expected to include a periscope telephoto lens for better zoom shots. Other Xiaomi 17 phones feature Leica-tuned cameras.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is rumoured to launch in the first quarter of 2026. It will join the lineup that includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra.

For reference, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, launched last month in China, has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup, and a starting price of around Rs. 90,000.

If the leaks are correct, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be the largest and most battery-packed phone in the series, offering strong performance and advanced camera features.
