New leaks have revealed key details about Xiaomi’s upcoming Xiaomi 16 series, which is expected to launch in late September or early October. These will be some of the first smartphones to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.
The series will include three models at launch:
- Xiaomi 16
- Xiaomi 16 Pro
- Xiaomi 16 Pro Max
The Xiaomi 16 Ultra will arrive later.
Display Sizes
According to the leak, shared by Digital Chat Station, the display sizes are as follows:
- Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro: 6.3 inches
- Xiaomi 16 Pro Max: 6.8 inches
The upcoming Xiaomi 16 Ultra is also expected to feature a 6.8-inch screen.
Camera Design and Hardware
The Xiaomi 16 Pro and Pro Max will introduce a new horizontal camera layout, similar to the design expected in the iPhone 17 Pro.
The layout includes three lenses in a triangular setup. This change will not apply to the standard Xiaomi 16, which is expected to look similar to last year’s Xiaomi 15.
In terms of hardware:
The Xiaomi 16 will feature a traditional telephoto lens and a main sensor from Omnivision.
The Pro and Pro Max will include periscope telephoto lenses and use Smartsens camera sensors — the same type rumored for the Xiaomi 16 Ultra.
These updates suggest that Xiaomi is focusing on premium design, camera improvements, and performance to compete with top-tier phones launching in late 2025.
