A woman decided to end her marriage after discovering that her husband had been mocking her behind her back with a cruel nickname.

Writing on Mamamia, she revealed that she stumbled upon a text where her husband referred to her as “SWMBO”—an acronym for “She Who Must Be Obeyed.”

She described how their relationship had changed after they had a child. Her husband refused to communicate his plans, whether it was coming home for dinner or going out with friends. One night, when his phone kept buzzing while he was in the shower, she checked his messages.

In a group chat, he told his friends he “probably wouldn’t be able to make it because SWMBO will say no.”

When she confronted him, he casually explained the meaning, but for her, it was a breaking point.

“I felt like I’d been slapped in the face,” she said. “It wasn’t about obeying me. It was about respect.”
