Woman Arrested After Smashing Drake’s OVO Store in Manhattan

A woman was arrested in New York City on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, after allegedly vandalizing Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO) flagship store in Manhattan, causing more than $23,000 in damage.

Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Shauna Stoner from Queens. Authorities said she used a hammer to smash windows and merchandise and attempted to set the store on fire. Stoner faces charges of criminal mischief and attempted arson, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

The incident occurred around 4:35 p.m. at the OVO store in NoHo, on Bond Street. Witness videos show Stoner, dressed in a black bra and leather pants, spray-painting items, overturning clothing racks, and breaking glass panels. During the rampage, she was heard saying, “It was just to cut up his clothes that he stole. My designs!” before police apprehended her nearby on Bowery Street and Great Jones Street.

The damage forced the store to close temporarily for repairs, with losses estimated between $23,000 and $31,000. Witnesses reported Stoner appeared calm as she left the scene before her arrest. Authorities have not confirmed a motive, though Stoner claimed Drake stole her designs. Social media speculation about her mental state has circulated, noting she appears to be a chef rather than a fashion designer, but these claims remain unverified.

Drake, the Canadian rapper and co-founder of the OVO brand, has not commented on the incident. The Manhattan store, which opened in 2016, is one of several OVO locations worldwide and is known for luxury merchandise. Earlier in 2025, Drake’s London OVO store was also vandalized with graffiti referencing a Kendrick Lamar diss track.

The case is under investigation, with police reviewing evidence and witness statements. The incident has sparked wider discussions about security at celebrity-owned retail locations and the challenges of managing public-facing businesses.
