After the release of Invincible Season 3 Episode 8, fans were eagerly anticipating a possible Episode 9. However, they should temper their expectations, as Episode 8 effectively serves as the season finale.
In Episode 8, titled “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up,” Mark faces off against the Viltrumite named Conquest in an explosive battle, which is the highlight of the episode.
The episode ends with significant developments that set the stage for Invincible Season 4, but it also brings Season 3 to a close.
Why No Episode 9?
The reason there won’t be a Season 3 Episode 9 is because Episode 8 marks the conclusion of the current season.
From here, the next episode fans can look forward to will be Invincible Season 4 Episode 1. However, as of now, there’s no official release date for the next season.
Setting Up Season 4
Despite the season-ending, Invincible Season 3 Episode 8 lays many important foundations for Season 4. The final montage reveals key storylines, including:
- The Sequids are preparing to take over Earth, led by Rus Livingston, who has become infected.
- Angstrom Levy is getting his hand fixed and is tasked with finding a new home for the Technicians after their original home was destroyed.
- Battle Beast is seen floating in space, seemingly thawing out from a previous encounter, promising more action to come.
- The episode ends with a significant twist: Cecil betrays Mark by storing Conquest’s body in a secret location to interrogate him later about how to defeat the Viltrumites.
Mid-Credit Scene
There’s also a mid-credits scene where Damien Darkblood, last seen in Season 1, returns. He promises to restore his eternal throne and hints at summoning a powerful surface dweller’s heart, setting up more mysteries for the next season.
While Invincible Season 3 may be over, Season 4 is clearly in the works, and fans will need to stay tuned for updates on its release. For now, the entirety of Season 3 is available to stream on Prime Video.
