From June 1, 2025, the UK government has banned the sale of single-use disposable vapes across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The ban aims to reduce environmental waste and stop young people from vaping.
Zeb, who owns the Manchester Vapeman shop, has shared his honest opinion on the ban. He supports it, even though he expects his business to lose money in the short term.
Zeb explains that disposable vapes create a lot of battery waste, so the ban is a good step. He also believes it will help young people quit vaping.
Zeb says his customers are not worried about the ban because he informed them months ago and helped them prepare. He has built strong relationships with his customers and regularly updates them about vaping changes.
He recommends alternatives to disposable vapes, like Vaporesso and OXVA devices. These devices use refillable pods or tanks and can be recharged, cutting down waste. Prices range from £15 to about £30.
According to Zeb, customers will save around £20 to £30 a month by switching to refillable pods instead of disposable vapes.
Though Zeb supports the ban, he expects his shop to lose about 20 to 25 percent of sales each month at first. Still, he believes vaping helps many people quit smoking and eventually stop vaping too.
