A recent leak suggests that Assassin’s Creed Shadows may soon be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game, set in Feudal Japan, was praised for revitalising the long-running series and achieving commercial success for developer Ubisoft.

The potential Switch release was first reported after a listing appeared on the French retailer Auchan’s website, indicating the game could arrive on the upcoming Switch 2. The listing did not include a price or specific release date.

Adapting the game for a handheld console presents challenges. Shadows is one of the most visually detailed entries in the series and currently exceeds 100GB in size.

While a game key card release could help, significant compression and reduction in visual fidelity would likely be required to make the game playable on the Switch.

The Switch 2’s enhanced hardware may make the port feasible, offering improved performance compared to the original console. Fans of the series are now watching closely for an official announcement from Ubisoft regarding the game’s release on Nintendo platforms.
