Twenty One Pilots have officially released “The Contract”, the first single from their next album, Breach. The release was announced on May 21, 2025, through the band’s social media, alongside the reveal of the full album. Breach will arrive in September 2025.
The announcement came shortly after the 10th anniversary of Blurryface and also marked four years since Scaled And Icy. The band’s post teased the return of their ongoing story with the words: “hello Clancy, hello Blurryface, let’s finish this”.
“The Contract” kicks off the final act of the band’s long-running narrative that started with Blurryface, moved through Trench, Scaled And Icy, and Clancy. The song connects the story’s main characters, bringing the plot closer to its conclusion.
