The main stage at Tomorrowland Music Festival in Belgium caught fire on Wednesday, just days before the event was scheduled to begin. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Tomorrowland, one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals, was set to start on Friday, with the DreamVille campsite opening on Thursday for attendees to settle in. Despite the fire, the campsite opened as planned.
In an emotional statement posted on Thursday, Tomorrowland organizers expressed their sorrow over the loss of the Orbyz Mainstage. They described the stage as more than just a structure, calling it “a living, breathing world” created through passion, imagination, and hard work.
The statement read: “It’s impossible to put into words what we’re feeling. The Orbyz Mainstage of Tomorrowland Belgium 2025… is no more.” The organizers paid tribute to the team behind the stage and vowed to hold on to the magic and dreams the stage represented.
Although the fire caused extensive damage, the festival will still go ahead as planned starting Friday, July 18. The two-weekend event typically attracts over 400,000 visitors.
