Timothée Chalamet, now 28, recently shared a humorous take on his awards journey during an interview with SiriusXM.
The actor, nominated for his fourth Golden Globe for portraying Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, joked about the irony of preparing acceptance speeches he never got to use.
“There’s nothing more uniquely hilarious than tearing up a speech after losing,” Chalamet said. “You think, ‘You narcissistic arrogant prick. On what planet did you think you were gonna use this?’”
Despite three prior Golden Globe nods (Call Me by Your Name, Beautiful Boy, and Wonka), Chalamet has yet to win.
However, his latest nomination places him in a competitive field alongside Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Daniel Craig (Queer), and others.
Chalamet’s performance as Bob Dylan has garnered critical acclaim, with Variety calling it “transfixing” and praising his authentic portrayal. The actor performed his own singing and guitar, further immersing himself in the role.
“A Complete Unknown” hits theaters on December 25, with Chalamet widely expected to secure an Oscar nomination for his work.
