Time Releases New Donald Trump Cover After He Criticizes Original Photo

Time magazine has released a new cover for its November 10 issue featuring President Donald Trump, following his criticism of the original image.

The updated cover shows Trump with his hands clasped under his chin at the Hayes desk, under the subtitle “Trump’s World.” The previous cover, released on October 14, showed Trump looking upward against the sky with the caption “His Triumph.”

Trump publicly criticized the first image on Truth Social, saying it made his hair appear altered and included a “floating crown” above his head. He called the photo “super bad” and questioned Time’s choices.

Time magazine has featured Trump on its cover more than 40 times, behind only Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. Trump was named Time’s Person of the Year in 2016 and 2024. Some of his residences, including Mar-a-Lago, reportedly displayed both authentic and fake Time covers.

The new photo was taken by Stephen Voss, a Washington, D.C.-based photographer. Some social media users suggested the image was inspired by a 1963 portrait of German industrialist Alfried Krupp, but Time denied any connection, saying the shoot drew from past presidential portraits, including previous Time covers.

A Time spokesperson emphasized that speculation about the photo’s inspiration was false and warned against spreading misinformation online.
