TikTok and Apple Music are teaming up to make music discovery easier for fans. The companies announced new features that will let users listen to full songs on TikTok without leaving the app.
The update will introduce two tools called Play Full Song and Listening Party. These features will roll out worldwide over the next few weeks for Apple Music subscribers.
With Play Full Song, users who find a track they like on TikTok will be able to tap a button and instantly open an Apple Music player inside the app. This will allow them to listen to the entire song and explore more recommended tracks.
Users will also be able to add songs they discover on TikTok directly to their Apple Music playlists. The goal is to make the jump from discovering music on social media to listening to it fully much smoother.
Apple says the feature also ensures that artists get paid properly. Since the playback runs through Apple Music’s system, streams will count the same way they normally do on the streaming platform.
The second feature, Listening Party, is designed to make music more social. It allows multiple TikTok users to listen to the same track at the same time while interacting with each other in real time.
According to Apple Music executive Ole Obermann, the idea is to let fans move from discovering a song to listening to it fully without breaking their experience on TikTok.
The partnership also highlights TikTok’s changing strategy in music. After shutting down its own streaming service in 2024, the platform is now focusing on working closely with established streaming services like Apple Music.
