Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role as Theodore “Theo” Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54. According to TMZ and multiple sources, Warner drowned accidentally while on a family vacation in Costa Rica.

Warner first rose to fame as a teenager on The Cosby Show, which aired from 1984 to 1992. His performance earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

He went on to star in several other television shows, including Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between the Lines, and The Resident. Warner also voiced The Producer on The Magic School Bus and received a Grammy nomination for a spoken word album.
