The faith-based series “The Chosen” returns with its most intense season yet, focusing on the days leading to Jesus’ crucifixion. Creator Dallas Jenkins promises a profound exploration of the dramatic week between Palm Sunday and Good Friday.

The new season, titled “The Chosen: Last Supper,” will debut in theaters on March 27 during Lent. The trailer reveals a powerful narrative, beginning with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and quickly transitioning to the emotional complexity of his impending sacrifice.

Key moments include the Last Supper, where Jesus foretells his betrayal, and a dramatic scene of Jesus overturning tables in the temple. The season will showcase Jesus’ different emotional states, from the jubilation of Palm Sunday to the intense knowledge of his approaching death.

The eight-episode season explores the psychological and spiritual journeys of key characters like Judas, Mary Magdalene, and Peter, examining how quickly public perception can shift from worship to hostility.
