Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal in The Accountant 2 2025

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, will begin streaming globally on Prime Video starting Thursday, June 5.

The film premiered in theaters in April and earned over $100 million at the global box office. It was first unveiled at the SXSW Festival, where it received critical praise and won the Headliner Audience Award.

Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the sequel follows Affleck’s character Christian Wolff, a gifted but socially isolated accountant.

When a former associate is found dead, Wolff is pulled into a dangerous investigation. Teaming up with his estranged brother Brax (Bernthal) and U.S. Treasury official Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy while being hunted by a network of assassins.

The cast also includes Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. The script was written by Bill Dubuque, and the film was produced by Ben Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams.

The 2016 original The Accountant earned $155 million worldwide and later became the most-rented digital film of the following year.

Affleck’s studio, Artists Equity, co-founded with Matt Damon, secured the rights for the sequel and brought it to Amazon MGM.
