The first is “Herogasm”, season three, episode six. It is best known for its wild and shocking scenes, but it is also one of the most important episodes in the whole show. This is the moment Homelander is truly pushed for the first time.

The third essential episode is not from The Boys at all. It is the season finale of spin-off series Gen V. That episode helps explain what Annie and A-Train have been doing, while also showing a growing resistance against Homelander’s control.
