World darts champion Luke Littler has reportedly spent his World Championship prize money less than a week after defending his title at Alexandra Palace.
The 18-year-old secured a £1 million prize after winning the tournament. However, reports suggest his take-home amount was significantly lower after tax and National Insurance contributions. Estimates indicate he may have retained around £500,000.
According to reports, Littler used much of the money to buy a new family home for his parents. The property is said to be a five-bedroom house on the outskirts of his hometown of Warrington, with a reported value close to £1 million.
A source close to the player said Littler plans to live in the house with his parents for now, while hoping it will become a long-term home for them in the future. The source added that the purchase was a way of repaying his parents for their support throughout his career.
The property reportedly includes five bathrooms, a large open-plan kitchen, solar panels, and a hot tub. Littler’s parents, Lisa and Anthony Buckley, are said to be delighted with the move.
Littler has quickly become one of the most recognisable figures in darts, following back-to-back World Championship titles at a young age. Speaking recently about his earnings, he said the level of prize money was something his family had never experienced before.
Littler’s rise has marked him as one of the sport’s most promising talents, with many expecting him to remain a leading figure in professional darts for years to come.
