Taylor Swift has officially revealed her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, during an appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. This will be her first new record since regaining the rights to her full music catalogue.
Swift has not yet announced a release date or shown the album cover. However, fans had already been piecing together clues. On August 11, her team’s official social media account, Taylor Nation, posted 12 photos of Swift wearing orange outfits, hinting at a new “era.”
The same day, the New Heights podcast teased a “very special guest” against an orange background, which fans quickly linked to Swift. That night, a countdown clock appeared on her website, ending at 12:12 a.m. ET on August 12.
The number 12 appears to be a recurring theme, possibly marking her 12th studio album. The colour orange is also a major visual element. Swift’s online store has listed “Pre Pre-Order” merchandise, including vinyl, cassette, and CD versions with a glittery orange padlock design.
The vinyl is described as “portofino orange glitter vinyl” — translucent orange with gold glitter. The products will ship before October 13, 2025, though the site confirms that this is not the album’s release date.
Fans also spotted clues in a new playlist titled And, baby, that’s show business for you ❤️🔥, which features 22 tracks produced by Max Martin and Shellback, but none by Swift’s long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff. This has sparked speculation that Martin and Shellback could play a major role in the new album’s sound.
Swift’s followers, known for decoding “easter eggs” in her public appearances, are already theorizing about the album’s themes. Some believe The Life of a Showgirl may explore the emotional toll and rewards of life on stage.
With many questions still unanswered, Swift fans are watching closely for the next round of hints.
