Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has become the first tour in history to gross over $2 billion. Her team confirmed the record-breaking numbers after the tour’s final show on Sunday night.
The tour, which lasted 21 months with 149 sold-out shows, earned $2,077,618,725. More than 10 million fans attended the tour, with an average ticket price of $204. Swift avoided dynamic pricing, making the achievement even more impressive.
Despite canceling three shows in Vienna due to safety concerns, the tour still crossed the $2 billion milestone. On the secondary market, tickets sold for an average of $2,952 each, far higher than their face value.
Before Swift, the highest-grossing tour was Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which earned $939 million. Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour also crossed the $1 billion mark earlier this year.
Swift’s eight shows at Wembley Stadium sold 753,112 tickets, making it the most-attended venue on her tour. The single biggest audience was 96,006 fans at a February show.
The Eras Tour sets a new benchmark for live music and cements Swift’s legacy as a pop icon.
