Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick says PC gaming is becoming more important in the video game industry. In a recent IGN interview, he noted that PC platforms now bring in significant sales for games released on multiple systems.

However, Zelnick wouldn’t confirm if Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will release on PC at the same time as consoles. He pointed out that Rockstar Games, which makes GTA, usually releases games on consoles first and PC later.

This pattern goes back many years. Since Grand Theft Auto 3, PC players have waited between 7 months to 14 years to play Rockstar’s games after console releases. The delay isn’t due to technical issues. Instead, it might be a business strategy – many players buy the game twice, first for console and later for PC.

Zelnick expects new gaming consoles to arrive soon. He believes major game releases, including those from Take-Two, will help sell these new consoles in 2025. He also mentioned that tariffs might affect the gaming industry.

While PC gaming’s importance keeps growing, Take-Two hasn’t changed its position on GTA 6’s PC release. The game will likely come to PC eventually – the market is too valuable to ignore. The only uncertainty is when PC players will get to play it.

This pattern follows what happened with GTA 5, which came to PC almost two years after its initial console release. Based on this history, PC players might need to be patient for GTA 6 as well.
