Take-Two CEO Addresses GTA 6 Development, AI, and Violence Concerns

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has addressed major concerns about Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) in a recent CNBC interview, covering topics from AI use to violence concerns.

On development, Zelnick emphasized that Rockstar Games aims for “creative perfection,” explaining why the game takes so long to create. He noted that GTA V has been a “standard bearer” for the industry across three generations of gaming consoles.

Regarding AI use, Zelnick clarified that while they use digital tools, “the genius is human.” He also addressed the actors’ strike, stating that Take-Two believes in protecting and properly compensating human performers, including cases where their work is replicated by AI.

When questioned about concerns that realistic graphics might inspire real-world violence, Zelnick firmly stated that “entertainment doesn’t create behavior, entertainment reflects behavior.”

He pointed out that GTA creates caricatures of the real world rather than importing it directly, noting that all brands in the game are fictional.

The interview followed Take-Two’s successful earnings report, with the company’s stock reaching an all-time high. Zelnick attributed this success not just to GTA 6 anticipation, but to their entire game lineup, stating their goal is to be “the most creative, most innovative and most efficient company in the entertainment industry.”

Note: Since this news is from February 2025, which is after my last update, I cannot verify these specific claims about GTA 6’s development, but I’ve presented the information as reported in the article.
