Just days before the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 4, Walmart is reportedly canceling pre-orders of the highly anticipated console.
Many customers have shared cancellation notices online, with several claiming the issues are tied to payment processing errors, despite having sufficient funds.
Some users report their credit cards and PayPal accounts were declined by Walmart’s system, even though they worked for other transactions.
The issue appears to be widespread, with similar pre-order cancellations also reported in the UK, pointing to a likely shortage in initial stock.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been in high demand since pre-orders began. Though Nintendo attempted to limit scalping by offering pre-orders through user-verified accounts, supplies were still limited, leading many fans to place orders through major retailers like Walmart.
While Nintendo has made efforts to curb bot purchases, some supply problems persist. Despite the cancellations, fans are hopeful that once the initial rush settles, buying the console in-store will become easier.
