Popular tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything has claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 is “basically invincible” after testing the console’s strength in a new video.

Nintendo launched the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025, but warned users not to remove a special anti-scattering adhesive film on its screen. This layer is designed to prevent sharp glass shards if the screen breaks.

Despite the warning, JerryRigEverything decided to remove the protective layer and test the console’s strength. In his video, he used large pliers to hit the screen over 50 times before it finally broke.

“If watching this doesn’t give you confidence in the Switch 2 durability, nothing will,” he said.

After breaking the screen, JerryRigEverything confirmed that Nintendo was right—without the top layer, the glass broke into sharp shards that could be dangerous. He warned viewers never to remove the protective film.

Even after the screen cracked, the Switch 2 kept working after a quick reset. The YouTuber said, “It’s basically invincible.”

This test has impressed many fans, showing that Nintendo built the Switch 2 to handle more damage than expected. Just don’t take off that protective layer.
