Fans of Study Group have exciting news – the hit high school action-comedy is preparing for a second season!
The drama, which premiered in January 2025, is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. It follows Youn Ga Min (played by Hwang Minhyun), a student who dreams of excelling academically but is only talented in fighting.
At a high school known for its tough reputation, Ga Min forms a study group and navigates the challenging world of college entrance exams.
On May 8, Studio Dragon, the production company behind the drama, confirmed that Study Group Season 2 is in the works. In its Q1 2025 earnings presentation, the company listed the second season as one of its key highlights.
Additionally, they mentioned that they are “considering new formats such as an interquel,” a type of follow-up that bridges the gap between two seasons, sparking even more curiosity about what’s next.
A Studio Dragon representative further confirmed on May 12 that Study Group Season 2 is in the early planning stages, indicating that the drama’s return is likely.
