Netflix’s hit series Squid Game is returning for Season 2 on Dec. 26. The show brings back fan-favorite characters and introduces new ones, promising more intense drama and social commentary.
Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the winner of Season 1, is back. This time, he voluntarily returns to the deadly games, determined to uncover the truth and stop the brutal competition.
Gi-hun will face the mysterious Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), whose backstory will be explored in this season.
New participants bring unique stories to the games. These include:
- Lee Myung-gi (Player 333): A fallen cryptocurrency guru seeking escape.
- Thanos (Player 230): A retired rapper who lost everything in crypto investments.

- Yong-sik (Player 7): A gambler joining with his mother to clear debts.
The season also sees the return of Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), the undercover cop from Season 1. Believed to be dead, he’s back to expose the truth behind the games.
The Salesman (Gong Yoo), a mysterious recruiter, will have his backstory revealed.
Fans will also meet new characters like No-eul, a North Korean defector searching for her daughter, and Seon-nyeo, a shaman bringing dark humor to the show.
Season 2 will continue exploring social issues, shedding light on themes like financial desperation, identity, and inequality.
With its gripping plot and diverse cast, Squid Game Season 2 is set to captivate audiences once again.
