Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Season 2 of Squid Game picks up with Gi-hun’s mission to dismantle the deadly games.

The show retains its iconic suspense and introduces new, harrowing challenges alongside familiar ones from Season 1.

Here’s a breakdown of every game featured in the latest season:

1. Ddakji (Episode 1)

This simple yet symbolic game returns, played with colored envelopes. It serves as a recruitment tool, with The Salesman slapping players who lose. The game hints at the brutal consequences awaiting participants.

2. Bread and Lottery (Episode 1)

A new recruiting game where The Salesman offers people a choice between pastries or lottery tickets. The game underscores how hope and risk are manipulated, even among the desperate.

3. Jokenpô (Episode 1)

A twist on rock-paper-scissors, this game adds emotional stakes as players must sacrifice themselves or others. It highlights themes of trust and betrayal.

4. Russian Roulette (Episode 1)

This high-stakes game of chance is introduced to let “fate” decide outcomes. It’s used as a pivotal moment between Gi-hun and The Salesman.

5. Red Light, Green Light (Episode 3)

The iconic game from Season 1 makes a return, with players needing to cross a field without moving during “Red Light.” A simple premise but deadly execution.

6. Six-Legged Pentathlon (Episodes 4-5)

A series of five games:

Ddakji: A replay of the recruitment game.

Flying Stone: Players knock over stones from a distance.

Gong-gi: A Korean jacks game requiring precision.

Spinning Top: Players must keep a metal top spinning.

Jegi: A hacky sack-like game with strict rules.

7. Mingle (Episodes 5-6)

Players must form groups matching specific numbers while navigating a rotating platform. Failure to meet requirements results in immediate elimination. The game is rife with betrayal.

8. Lights Out (Episodes 6-7)

An unofficial “Special Round” where players face off in darkness armed only with forks. It’s chaotic and violent, reflecting the lawlessness of the Squid Game environment.

The Revolt and Cliffhanger Ending

The games are interrupted by a revolt led by Gi-hun, leaving the season on an even bigger cliffhanger than its predecessor.

Fans can expect more twists and intense moments in the confirmed third and final season of Squid Game.
