Spotify is planning to introduce a new premium service, Music Pro, that will offer super-fans enhanced features for a monthly fee of $5.99 on top of existing subscriptions.

The new tier will include high-quality audio, remixing tools, and access to concert tickets. While the final pricing and timeline are still being worked out, the service is expected to launch later this year.

The Music Pro tier will allow subscribers to mix songs from different artists, with some features powered by artificial intelligence. Spotify is also exploring options for selling concert tickets, potentially offering presale access or better seating options. The company has been in discussions with major promoters and ticket sellers, although no final agreements have been made yet.

Spotify has traditionally offered a large library of music at a consistent price across major markets, but with growth slowing in developed markets like the US, it sees an opportunity to diversify its offerings and cater to more passionate music fans.

The company is also testing a new subscription around audiobooks and has raised prices for its existing plans, which range from $5 per month for students to $20 per month for families.

Music Pro is expected to target the most dedicated fans who are willing to pay more for exclusive content, concert perks, and enhanced music features. Although it may not appeal to all users, Spotify believes it could attract millions of customers, especially with the ongoing growth in international markets.

This move follows in the footsteps of competitors like Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, Tidal, and SoundCloud, all of which offer some combination of high-quality audio and remixing tools.

However, Spotify remains the dominant player in the market with 675 million total users and over 250 million paying subscribers.

Spotify plans to roll out Music Pro in phases, testing different features and options throughout 2025. The company’s continued efforts to offer tiered services are aimed at capitalizing on the loyalty of dedicated music fans.
